True happiness is... to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future.
- Seneca
We'd walked a good bit that day, nearly 15 miles. We'd done the same for several days in a row, amassing a total of 500 miles over the course of just over a month. Each afternoon we'd find a quiet place — a park, a plaza, a playground — to move our bodies through the poses. There was nothing in our way.
At first it was just Kim and me. By the time we reached Santiago de Compostela, there were 12 of us moving our bodies in unison.
Dogs, plows and bows
We move through each pose
Struggling in our separate ways
Mantras and hymns
Unfolding limbs
Looking for release through the pain
- P. Gabriel
We never darkened the door of a yoga studio. We found our sacred spaces right there where we were, that day, that moment.
You can take in a practice anywhere.
Go now, "... move through each pose ...."
There's nothing in your way.
