"Together we can face any challenges as deep as the ocean and as high as the sky."
S. Gandhi
The more I think on it, the more I'm convinced that we're all in this together. You may seek solitude. You may need quite time. But we need each other.
My community, my friends, the people who have worked their way into my life, make me a better person. Some mornings, the thought of Adrian smiling or Brian giving me a hug when I walk into the yoga studio at 6:00 am is what gets me there. That little hint of encouragement goes a long way.
My morning ritual of coffee with my pal Kenny is an encouragement. This morning I strolled up to the shop and I knew he wasn't there. No truck. No office light. No shop light. I called.
"About 20 minutes." he said.
Even though my morning was an alone morning, which I adored, it was the prospect of coffee with Kenny that got me started. I walked back to the house. I pulled a double shot off the espresso machine. I sat in the back yard.
Even the things we do by ourselves - sometimes (usually) - require others.
