I was responding to a friend. "Juliette is on my ass about money." I texted.
I hit send.
My cousin, not the intended audience, replied, "What?"
"Discernible misfire," I said. "Sorry."
Not that bad, really. I've done worse.
I think the key is to get out in front of the mistake, admit your stupidity, and apologize.
Then move on.
